Simpson Construction Crafts Efficient, Comfortable Space for Furry Friends

Wichita-based construction company Simpson Construction Services recently completed the Rose Hill Veterinary Health Center, a local clinic offering general veterinary services, large animal surgery and treatment, dog and cat boarding, and more.

Owned by veterinarians and spouses Brian Hodes and Jessica Harrison, the Rose Hill clinic offers 12,600 square feet of reception space, boarding areas, a surgery room, an X-ray room, storage and pharmacy space, and more. The clinic also boasts a cattle and large animal treatment area, a feature unique to the area.

Previously, Hodes and Harrison treated animals in Harrison’s father’s clinic, which they quickly outgrew. They found their new space at 1060 Rose Hill Road, which formerly housed a grocery store. Simpson Construction embarked on a ten month design/build remodeling project, reworking the entire facility to meet the needs of a veterinary practice.

Gregg Oblinger, director of preconstruction services at Simpson Construction, said the undertaking was massive.

“It was structurally sound, but the building needed to be completely gutted to meet Brian and Jessica’s needs for a veterinary practice,” said Oblinger. “These renovations will serve their growing business for years to come.”

Simpson Construction hired Spangenberg Phillips Tice Architecture in a design/build contract to complete the Rose Hill project.
