MARY QUEEN OF ANGELS CATHOLIC CHURCH
When lightning struck the historic Mary Queen of Angels Catholic Church in Fort Scott, Kansas, the resulting fire destroyed a structure that had stood for more than 150 years. Our team was honored to take on the challenge of rebuilding this cherished place of worship, preserving its legacy while incorporating modern building systems for longevity and safety.
The new 7,500 SF church was meticulously designed to resemble the original church, which was built in the late 1860s. Every architectural detail was carefully considered to maintain the character and spirit of the original structure. While the new church includes modern heating, cooling, plumbing, and fire sprinkler systems, its soul remains rooted in history. Key elements from the original church were salvaged and reinstalled, including all the stained glass windows and the Stations of the Cross, ensuring that the new space continues to reflect the faith and history of the parish community. The result is a church that not only honors its past but also serves as a place of worship for generations to come.
