EDUCATION | DODGE CITY COMMUNITY COLLEGE SHELDEN HALL
LOCATION: DODGE CITY, KS
Following the successful construction of Becker Hall a newly built student dormitory for DCCC, the college contracted with Simpson again this time to completely strip the existing Sheldon Hall back to the cladding and structure.
The interior was completely reconfigured with a focus on increasing the marketability of the residence. Increasing the size of the rooms and providing private bathrooms taking the number of beds down from 148 to 91. With the reduction in rooms, the communal study and lounge areas were also enlarged.
New mechanical, electrical, plumbing systems, and thermally insulated windows in the building increased efficiency reducing the operating cost for the college.
