The start of a wider campus remodel the initial phase to demolish and reconstruct 6 4-plex buildings and landscape the campus.

With a focus on providing good quality accommodation and care at an affordable price Simpson worked with Prairie Homestead and the design team to provide value solutions to keep costs low but provide a robust low maintenance building that will serve the facility for another 40 years.

Each unit was provided with a storm shelter constructed with prebuilt steel reinforced wall panels and a door access that was strong enough to provide a shelter but light enough to be used by residents on a daily basis as a closet. Fiberglass windows offer a durable solution with high thermal and acoustic properties compared with vinyl or aluminum options. All clad in brick the new units require little care or paint work as the buildings age.
