PROJECT SUPERINTENDENT

Maintain the project schedule, keep subcontractors on task and maintain a culture of site safety. Supervise Simpson carpenters and laborers and subcontractors. Ensure the quality of delivery is high and develop strong relationships with owners and architects. Work effectively with the project manager to keep them informed of progress, potential problems, and opportunities. Perform set out and check layout and elevations against the plans.

- Bachelor’s degree in construction management or associated qualification. If no degree held, a competent resume of experience as a superintendent or project manager is required.
- Capable of managing directly employed staff and subcontractors, coordinating work and ensuring all parties have up to date information
- Capable of understanding plans and specifications and able to relate them effectively to subcontractors and owners
- Strong working knowledge of construction means and methods, subcontractor capabilities and building materials
- Good understanding of construction methods, scheduling, and blueprint reading.
- Basic knowledge and use of communication skills.
- Demonstrated leadership ability is essential.
- The ability to converse in Spanish may be an asset
- Experience with ProCore Construction Management Software
- Experience with BlueBeam
- Familiarity with construction software for takeoff and scheduling
- Understanding of consultant’s responsibilities and our obligations for Design Bid Build, Construction Manager at Risk and Design-Build delivery method
- Knowledge of building code and city requirements
- Proficient in MS office
- Valid driver’s license
- Capabilities with a Total Station is preferred
- Experience as a craft worker preferred
